Welcome to the cricket web site of one of the oldest clubs in Bedfordshire. Cricket has been played on Ickwell Green for more than 120 years and it is famous for the 250 year old oak tree that stands in the outfield.
For the 2009 season we will be playing our Saturday cricket for the first time in the Huntingdonshire County Cricket League with the 1st XI in Division 1 and 2nd XI in Division 3. This will provide a fresh challenge for our Saturday cricketers. On Sundays we play in the Bedfordshire County League with a 1st XI in the Premier League, 2nd XI in Division 2 and a youth side in the Development Division. Our first eleven were runners up in the Premier Division in 2007.
We also play midweek league cricket in the Bedford Midweek League and various cup competitions including the Hospital Cup (which we won in 2007),Heritage Cup, Senior and Junior East Beds Shield.
There are under-10, under-12,under-14 and under-16 youth teams with youth coaching on Friday evenings. This is all part of a club policy to encourage young players to join the club.
We always keen to welcome new players so if you would like to play challenging, competitive cricket please contact any of the team captains or the Cricket Secretary via the links on the About Us page.
The club also acts as a social centre for the village and organises various entertainments for club members. It has a well stocked bar open every evening of the year, also a golf, crib and dominoes section.
